Maintenance Needed

11/19/15

Maintenance Needed

Here is a analogy about your walk/faith with Christ

You come to me and say ,I need a car ? So I give you a car its a free gift you don’t need to do a thing for me to give you this car it's absolutely free.
That’s it you have a car ,now do you need to do anything else with the car ?
Yes ! You have to maintain the car ,you have to perform maintenance on the car. If you don't the car will get to looking raged ,not run right and eventually break down and you wont have a car anymore.
The thing that starts our Faith /Walk is a relationship with Christ /Salvation that is a free gift. Is there anything else that needs to be done? Yes I'm not saying you earn Salvation Ephesians 2 make it very clear that's not possible nor am I saying you could lose it .
That's a different discussion ,I'm speaking of our faith /walk with Christ ( our relationship )
I think our faith /walk with Christ is similar to a cars needs. If we don't read Gods word ,study God's word ,dwell on God's word ,put into action God's word ,live God's word ,and practice God's word ,then your faith/walk with Christ will break down, it will become useless ,it will be evidence free, action free. And maybe, dare I say it ,even not have faith/walk with Christ.
Evaluate your faith/ walk with Christ ,Are you performing maintenance necessary to maintain proper faith/walk or is it maintenance free.
Remember 7 days not in the Word makes one weak.
James 2:22a22 You notice that his faith was co-operating with his actions,  (WNT)
Does you faith /walk co-operate with your actions ? If not there are thing mentioned above you probably need to do.
Faith with out action and evidence is dead James 2:26 b( my paraphrase )

Random thoughts on Noah and the Ark and the Boys

When were Noahs boys born?Pastor was speaking about Noah. And the example Noah put forth for his kids on being dedicated to God .( unless I got distracted by this question. How old was Noah's boys when he started building the Ark ? Its usually taught that it took Noah 100 years to build the ark. Genesis 5:32 Noah is first mentioned and he is stated as to being 500 years old,in Genesis 7 : 7 Noah and family inter the ark he is then 600 years old. So I think its per summed to have taken 100 years using those verses. I don't think the Bible actually says how long it took to build the ark. Back to my question" How old are Noah's boys when he starts building the ark? " using the same verses stating Noah's age
Gen 5:32 [32] After Noah was 500 years old, Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
Notice it say's AFTER Noah was 500 years old he FATHERED the boys. Next verse
Gen 7:[6] Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth. [7] And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
Now notice Noah is 600 years old when going into the ark. thats one hundred years . If he didn't have the boys until he was 500 and it took 100 years to build the ark ,then the boys were born during the construction of the ark .God blessed Noah with boys so they could help build the ark. One more thing
These are the generations of Shem. When Shem was 100 years old, he fathered Arpachshad two years after the flood. If Shem was 100 then fathered a son 2 years after the flood then Noah must have been 502 when Shem was born .Noah entered the ark at 600.
God gave the command to build the ark and he would save Noah ,his wife ,his sons ,and their wives.
Either God was speaking in the future tense when he mentions the boys wives or the boys were married at the time of the command. If the boys were married at the time of the command .For discussion Lets say they are around 20 when they got married. That would make Noah around 520 years old when the command was given and around 80 years to build the Ark

Just a thought

Can't You See Don't You Care ?

11/19/15
Cant You See ?

There was a young man who really loved history .While in high school he always talked about traveling the world to see the places he had studied about. After graduation he went off to collage and majored in history .
As he learned more about history ,his desire to travel grew. While he was in collage he met a young lady . They soon got married and talked about traveling the world together. She became pregnant and gave birth to a boy. The young man dropped out of collage so he could support his family .His hopes and dreams faded away .He got a job at a railroad bridge over a major river that was also a shipping lane. His job was to make sure the bridge was down when the trains came and up when the ships passed by.
When his son was 9 years old he took him to work one day . He told his son about the ships and their destination by the flag they were flying. As the father an son were eating lunch .The father heard the whistle of the 1230 express train coming. The bridge was up and he needed to get it down right away.
He told his son to stay right where he was. The father ran up the steps to lower the bridge. As he did his safety checks .He looked up river and down river, then down below him to make sure all was clear. That’s when he say a horrific site ,his son had fallen into the gears and was stuck and crying.

The train whistle was getting closer ,he raced in his mind how he could get down and free his son and back up in time to lower the bridge in time for the train. If the bride wasn't down hundreds of people would die.

As the train was racing closer and closer he couldn't come up with a way to rescue his son and save the people on the train. He thought this is my only son if I pull the lever he will die and if I don't hundreds of people would die.
As the train came close and closer his decision had to be made. He pulled the lever over the rumbling of the bridge moving he can hear his sons anguish as he died when the bridge came down.
The bridge was down in time and hundreds of lives were saved. As the train passed the control station for the bridge he could see that the people on the train were clueless as to what just happened .They were reading the paper drinking coffee and laughing an talking .
As the train passed the father said “cant you see what I did for you. Cant you see I sacrificed my only son so you may live ,cant you see don't you care”
When you look at the cross remember what God has done for you and give thanks

John 3:16-17English Standard Version (ESV)

For God So Loved the World

16 “For God so loved the world,  that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

The time is NOW! Look at the cross and remember and believe in the truth of Gods Word

Sanctified in Truth

Sanctified in Truth

John 17:17-19

John 17:17-19English Standard Version (ESV)

17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

To Sanctify: Gr hagiazo =Set apart

We as Christians are set apart for the for Gods service . Jesus is our perfect example of this he was consistently and completely devoted ,set apart to doing Gods will. Sanctification in Johns Gospel is about missions. As it is for us as Christians. Our mission doesn't have to be in another country it can be right in our own neighbor hood in our own home. We are Sanctified through the living Word that is Jesus Christ and written Word of God ,Scripture.
When we come to a Saving knowledge Jesus we are we are sanctified at the time.
That is positional sanctification . Sanctification that is being set apart is a continual
processes . Hebrews 10:14English Standard Version (ESV)
14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

Colossians 3:10English Standard Version (ESV)

10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

As we grow reading Gods Word and Trust in Christ our sanctification is growing ,becoming more like Christ our creator . The old nature has been removed (Colo 3:9 ) and our new nature has been put on ,and that’s in the image of our creator Jesus Christ. (Col 3:10) Your mission field is right next to you.

One Mediator

ONE MEDIATOR

There is only one God and many mediators between man and God ,one of those being Jesus Christ 1 Timothy 2:5
That’s not what the verse really say's ,its what many wish it said. There are groups out there that basically teach this. They say you can pray to the great people of the Bible or family and friends who have died, for intersession or mediation between them and God. I'm not going to re-hash talking to the dead you can read my paper on talking to the dead titled “Should Christians talk to the dead”you can see it on facebook.com/biblethink or russ-biblethoughts.blogspot.com

Here is what the verse actually say's:1 Timothy 2:5English Standard Version (ESV)
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Notice the Bible say's one mediator between man and God the man Jesus Christ. Anything or other book says something different, then one of the 2 are wrong .They both can't be right. Scripture is God breathed: 2 Timothy 3:16English Standard Version (ESV)16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,.Scripture was written under the influence of God. There are no other books needed (SOLA SCRIPTURA ) means Scripture only. Any writing that counters what scripture say's is not to be accepted as inspired scripture.. Next time someone say's :pray to your family member for intersession to God Quote them 1Timothy 2: 5 :1 Timothy 2:5English Standard Version (ESV)5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Have a great day and God Bless

Exposed by the sword

Exposed by the sword

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Why don't Christians read the bible on a regular basis?
Is it because it exposes us to our sinful desires or maybe less politically correct EVIL DESIRES.
Gods Word diagnoses our illness with a surgeon's precision., exposes our weakness and unbelief ,It bears constant reminding that we submit ourselves to the word of God .
God meets us in His Word, and the Holy Spirit works powerfully through the word of God.
God's Word can hit us with surprising precision, and the Holy Spirit empowers the ministry of the Word to do deep work in our hearts.

Read the Word and be empowered by the Holy Spirit ,to live according to the Word

Overly Worried or Overly Detached part 1

Overly Worried or Overly Detached

Overly worried or overly detached is something that affects many people ,especially when it comes to family . No one wants to be hurt or be in constant emotional pain, yet trying to overly detach from a situation and or overly worried isn't good physically ,emotionally and spiritually. Both worry and detachment I believe can and does cause illnesses. There is a middle ground a point in which you are neither so attached (worried ) as to affect your emotional balance and not so detached as to have a heart that is so hard that when there is a legitimate request for help that you ignore it, that middle ground isn't achieved very well on ones own power .

Psychology give's reasons for these behaviors and solutions to over coming them ,yet in everything I've read God isn't part of the solution. Using the solutions from psychology, its done on your own power ,although this may work for a time ,is it a true solution . Is there a biblical solution ,maybe a heart issue? I'll be looking at the psychological view and a biblical view of over coming worry and detachment.

Worry *
This is the thought process that creates the feelings and emotions experienced as anxiety. Worrying can be useful in helping to find solutions to problems; however, worrying often centers on problems that cannot currently be solved. Thinking soon becomes very negative and doom laden, and this is misusing the imagination.
This worrisome thinking style can easily create the conditions that make a person feel anxious:
  • Helplessness – Insufficient information to handle the situation.
  • Over stimulation – Too much information, or information overload.
  • Incongruity – Conflicting information.
  • Unpredictability – Having an uncertain outcome.
Solutions to worry

Worry and anxiety self-help tip #1: Create a worry period**

Postpone your worry.
If an anxious thought or worry comes into your head during the day, make a brief note of it on paper and postpone it to your worry period. Remind yourself that you’ll have time to think about it later, so there’s no need to worry about it right now. Save it for later and continue to go about your day.

Worry and anxiety self-help tip #2: Ask yourself if the problem is solvable

Can you do something about the problem or prepare for it, or is it out of your control?Productive, solvable worries are those you can take action on right away. For example, if you’re worried about your bills, you could call your creditors to see about flexible payment options. Unproductive, unsolvable worries are those for which there is no corresponding action. “What if I get cancer someday?” or “What if my kid gets into an accident?”

Worry and anxiety self-help tip #3: Accept uncertainty

But what if the worry isn’t something you can solve? If you’re a chronic worrier, the vast majority of your anxious thoughts probably fall in this camp. In such cases, it’s important to tune into your emotions.
This may seem scary at first because of negative beliefs you have about emotions. For example, you may believe that you should always be rational and in control, that your feelings should always make sense, or that you shouldn’t feel certain emotions, such as fear or anger.
The inability to tolerate uncertainty plays a huge role in anxiety and worry. Chronic worriers can’t stand doubt or unpredictability. They need to know with 100 percent certainty what’s going to happen. Worrying is seen as a way to predict what the future has in store—a way to prevent unpleasant surprises and control the outcome. The problem is, it doesn’t work.

Worry and anxiety self-help tip #4: Challenge anxious thoughts

Identifying the frightening thought, being as detailed as possible about what scares or worries you. Then, instead of viewing your thoughts as facts, treat them as hypotheses you’re testing out. As you examine and challenge your worries and fears, you’ll develop a more balanced perspective.

Stop worrying by questioning the worried thought

  • What’s the evidence that the thought is true? That it’s not true?
  • Is there a more positive, realistic way of looking at the situation?
  • What’s the probability that what I’m scared of will actually happen?
  • If the probability is low, what are some more likely outcomes?
  • Is the thought helpful? How will worrying about it help me and how will it hurt me?
  • What would I say to a friend who had this worry?
** Help Guide.org
All these solutions for worry yet , God isn't mentioned these are all done on your own ,by yourself. How many people who deal with worry can truly do these thing and not worry if they will be able to achieve the desired results? Probably not many.

9 Worry Busting steps *
No. 1. Make a list of your worries
Identify what you are worried about,

No. 2. Analyze the list
"Look at whether your worry is productive or unproductive,"

No. 3. Embrace uncertainty
You need to accept your own limitations or it may be a degree of uncertainty that you need to accept.

No. 4. Bore yourself calm.
"Repeat a feared thought over and over and it will become boring and will go away,"

No 5. Make yourself uncomfortable.
"Worriers feel that they can't tolerate discomfort, but if you practice discomfort, you will accomplish a lot more,"

No 6. Stop the clock.
I need the answer right now and if I don't get it then something terrible will happen.'" Look at the advantages and disadvantages of demanding such urgency. "Rather than focus on the sense of urgency, instead focus on what you observe right now,"

No 7. Remember that it's never as bad as you think it will be.
The 'what ifs' are always way worse than how you feel when something actually happens. "Worriers tend to worry about things that even if they happen, they can handle it,"

No 8. Cry out loud.
"The emotional part of the brain -- the amygdala -- is suppressed when you worry,"

No 9. Talk about it
Beside the cognitive therapy techniques mentioned above -- which can help change troublesome behaviors -- talk therapy can also help chronic worriers worry less by getting to the root of their issues. Often talk therapy and cognitive behavior therapy can work together,
    *From Web MD
Whats the Word of God say about worry?
What does worry accomplish?
[27] And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? (Matthew 6:27 ESV)
This is a rhetorical question ,worry doesn't add to your life span if anything is diminishes it. Worry destroys life.
[31] Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ [32] For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. [33] But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:31-33 ESV)
God in His omniscience already knows the needs of His people. Members of the kingdom should not be worried with things since their heavenly Father is already aware of them. The kingdom should be the primary focus of Christians and the object their desire. As result, the fullness of God’s blessing will manifest in their lives. Christians would have a better ability to deal with life’s events ,a calmness if they would first seek the kingdom of God . Trusting in the Father’s provision serves as an antidote to worry.
Prov 3:Trust in the Lord with all your heart,    and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him,   and he will make straight your paths.
Wisdom comes from God, we must trust Him. This often involves relying on God’s wisdom rather than our own . Our own understanding is often associated with our feelings ,and our feelings can be misleading us,especially due to a close association to the situation .We may say yes to something when God is saying NO. .Trust in His guidance.
Luke 8:14 And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.
Greek :merimna means care, anxiety, worry :the cares ( worries) of the world choke out growth, Not focusing on God during troubled times .
Worry removes your focus as Christians we shouldn't worry about things like the unsaved do.

Scripture for combating worry
God knows your needs
Matt 6:32b:your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
God knows your needs ,take your worries to him.

See God is with you
Josh1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
God is always with you during troubles times and peaceful times
Ps 64:10a be still and know I am God.
Be still take a moment and know God is with you, take a breath.
Trust in Gods promises
Isa 41:10 fear not, for I am with you;  be not dismayed, for I am your God;I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Rely on Gods strength to carry you through
Psalms 37:Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.
Prov 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Rely on the promises of God to help you through all things
Pray
Ps 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Philippians 4: 6 do not be anxious (worry)about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Trust in God to answer your prayer and meet your NEEDS in dealing with worry not necessarily your desires. Trust in his will for you.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,

5 Words To Guard Against Worry
Fear Not: Isa 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God;I will strengthen you, I will help you,I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Commit:Ps 37 :5Commit your way to the Lord;trust in him, and he will act.
Trust:Ps 37 :5Commit your way to the Lord;trust in him, and he will act.
Cast:1 Peter 5: casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Wait:Ps 27:Wait for the Lord;be strong, and let your heart take courage;wait for the Lord!

So how do we do the things mentioned ? PRACTICE

Philippians 4:Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
The things that are true, honorable, just ,pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and worthy. Dwell on them practice them . Gods peace will be with you.

Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
Constant training is required in order to become mature and able to distinguish right from wrong or on how to deal with any situation in life.

Neh 8:13 On the second day the heads of fathers' houses of all the people, with the priests and the Levites, came together to Ezra the scribe in order to study the words of the Law.

Study the Word ,you cant practice something you really don't know about, how can you wait on God ,cast your burdens on God , trust God ect ect .If you don't really know. Study and practice what you learn. One last verse .This is one of my favorites .

Ezra 7:10 For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.
I'm not saying you should be teaching with this verse , I'm more concerned with the first two things .Setting your mind to study Gods Word and Doing (Practice) Gods Word

If you can practice the steps to combating worry according to Gods Word I know your worries will drop to a point that is more manageable and maybe even solvable ,then it become a concern (solution oriented ) And in that it still depends on if you could even solve it or not. When the worry becomes a concern with Gods help then you will have found that middle ground, that point of  not being over invested in a situation or under invested.

Don't get caught up in the word WORKS.

James 2:17-21 Don't get caught up in the word WORKS.

This is some scripture that gets debated so much because of the word works. That’s apparently a bad word or a convicting word . So I'm going to post the scripture but instead of using works I'm going to use evidence and action.

So also faith by itself, if it does not have action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have actions.” Show me your faith rapart from your actions, and I will show you my faith sby my actions. 19 tYou believe that God is one; you do well. Even uthe demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from actions is useless?

So also faith by itself, if it does not have evidence, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have evidence.” Show me your faith rapart from your evidence, and I will show you my faith sby my evidence. 19 tYou believe that God is one; you do well. Even uthe demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from evidence is useless?

By using action and evidence doers it change the meaning of the verse's .? No It gives better understanding .
Works = Action = Evidence=Faith indeed.
No works = No action = No evidence=No faith

NASB James 1:22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

Most versions just say”be doers of the Word” I like the NASB because its a stronger command “ Prove Yourself” Show me the evidence ?. How do you get the evidence?
Works = Action = Evidence .
Works are needed as evidence of faith Acts 26 :20bbut  that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance. Deeds ,Actions ,Works inline with repentance

Waymouth New Testament
James 2:22 You notice that his faith was co-operating with his actions, and that by his actions his faith was perfected

Notice faith and actions co-operating together and by his actions faith perfected ,might even say maintained and strengthened.
By not having works = actions =evidence then then you have no faith!

Heb 6:4For it is impossible, in the case of those qwho have once been enlightened, who have tasted rthe heavenly gift, and shave shared in the Holy Spiritand thave tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, anduthen have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since vthey are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

Greek :phōtizō =enlighten meaning:to enlighten, spiritually, with saving knowledge

Works strengthen our faith ,it produces evidence for those around you ,it maintains you salvation. With out work or action you will fall away with no opportunity to return.
May I encourage you today to put your faith into action and do the works God has set before you.

Eph 2:10For fwe are his workmanship, gcreated in Christ Jesus hfor good works, iwhich God prepared beforehand, jthat we should walk in them.

Can Christians Seek Mediums?

Should Christians Go To Mediums To Talk To Passed Loved Ones ?

NO!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen several post on Face Book from people I think are Christians ,yet post stuff about Mediums.
Here is one of the latest:Ten Signs That Deceased Loved Ones Give To Let Us Know They Are Around
So I read the article or as least as much as I could stand .Do people really fall for this ? Apparently so. Some will say “If it gives them comfort whats the problem?” If your a Christian ( That is a Bible believing Christian ) Then you are placing your comfort or peace with something that is ungodly. Demonic in nature.

Lucifer or Satan isn't some grotesque being as the movies present him Lucifer:
(light‐bearer) found in Isaiah 14:12 coupled with the epithet "son of the morning," clearly signifies a "bright star," and probably what we call the morning star.
His demons are also fallen angles so their appearance is also a thing of beauty .

2Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.
By their appearance they can fool you .

OT Statement:Abominable Practices
“When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, wyou shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone xwho burns his son or his daughter as an offering,5 anyone who practices divination or ztells fortunes or interprets omens, or aa sorcerer 11 or a charmer or ba medium or a necromancer or cone who inquires of the dead, 12 dfor whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And ebecause of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, 14 for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.

Leviticus 19:31 fDo not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

So Why were these practices not allowed? Very simple these practices were not of God nor did they direct them to God ? Your rest /peace comes from God , not those who practice wacamo religion.

Can the dead talk with the living? **

It’s in the Bible, Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, NKJV. “For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished; nevermore will they have a share in anything done under the sun.”
If people die with unfinished business to care for, do they become ghosts and haunt the places and people they knew in life? It’s in the Bible, Psalm 146:4, ESV. "When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.”
What does the Bible say about communicating with "familiar spirits", or ghosts? It’s in the Bible, Isaiah 8:19, NASB. “And when they say to you, ‘Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter.’ Should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?” vs. 20, KJV. “To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
What does the Bible say about those who communicate with familiar spirits? It's in the Bible, Leviticus 19:31, NKJV. "Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God."
** From Bibleinfo.com
You can see as a Christian trying to contact the dead is an abomination unto God. It defiles you as a Christian and also may I say as a non-christian . You are placing your peace and comfort into that which is not of God but of Satan and his demons they come as light ,in reality they are darkness. Leading you into putting your trust in them for peace instead of the one who can geive real peace.

Matt 11:29Come to me, (Christ) all who labor (burdens)and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Instead of seeking things out side of God seek Christ and he will give you rest(peace)

Heb 3:16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.

This is speaking of the Hebrews who sinned against God in the wilderness . They seek after other gods .They did not enter into Gods rest .The promised land.
Are you really willing to take the chance of not entering into Gods rest (peace) by going to those who attempt to contact the dead?

I could keep going putting verse after verse ,but I just add one more thing . We are as Christians are being made into the image of Christ (Col 3:10) and we are ambassadors of Christ (2 Cor 5:20) As a representative of Christ we are to not seek out the dead for they are just that DEAD !!
The Bible is clear when you die and you are a Christian (real Christian) you go home to the Lord ,non Christians go to Hell or better said Hades ,the abode of the dead ,the waiting place a place of torment, awaiting the final judgment the second death .
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. (Hell)This is the second death, the lake of fire.

So when you die your spirit doesn't wander around the planet haunting or trying to comfort you . So take heart my friends and refrain from seeking out the dead ,your opening a door for the demonic to use you for other than Gods purpose.

May you have the joy and peace and comfort that only comes from God.
